NAACP Tele-Town Hall

Join us for a tele-town hall on Wednesday, September 19 at 8:00 PM EST to discuss how to reclaim our communities.

Since Donald Trump ran for the presidency on a platform of division, people of color across America have been dealing with levels of blatant hate and racism not seen in decades.

We can’t do mundane activities like wait for business partners in a coffee shop, swim in a community pool, or have a barbecue in a park without the fear of the police being called.

We can’t exercise our right to vote without people in power trying to put up barriers to our access to the ballot box.

And police and civilians alike continue shooting and killing unarmed African Americans on the street and in our own homes.

This needs to end.

On November 6, we all have a chance to put our country back on the path toward equality.

With just 50 days until the critical midterm elections, the time for action is now.

RSVP now to join us for this event.

Our very democracy, the rule of law, as well as precious blood-bought civil and human rights progress are at stake in the 2018 Midterm Election and beyond.  This harsh reality makes our unity more crucial than ever.

Between now and the November 6th Election, we are calling on pastors in NY, AL, GA, OH, FL, MI and PA to engage in voter protection and engagement activities as follows:

SEPTEMBER: Voter Protection Webinars for pastors and lay leaders focused on "Know Your Rights," What's at Stake?", Voter Protection Strategies."We are Watching" meetings with your Secretary of State, so they know that clergy will be prayerfully watching to ensure that our communities and their votes are protected.

OCTOBER: Prayer Breakfasts in your states to energizing voter engagement and equipping pastors for election day.

NOVEMBER: Turnout Sunday services and Election day events for pastors and churches focused on voter turnout and protection of vulnerable voters at targeted precincts. We will call on all clergy to wear your sacred collars to the polls on election day and to collaborate with lawyers in precincts of vulnerable populations in across the country.

Working in unity, our denomination and independent churches can mobilize an historic level of African American voter turnout in the 2018 Midterm Election.
